I would like to invite you and your family and friends to the second run of my play, Baltimore, You Have No Idea.
Frankly, I had no idea the play would sell out all three performances and be so well received. Many people told me they tried but failed to get a ticket last year. The cast, crew and I were so moved by the positive response that we’ve decided to stage BYHNI again.

It’s a one-act play of nine scenes, with stories from the hard streets and sweet spots of Baltimore, each drawn from columns I’ve written over the years. You might even recognize some of them. The performances are again in December, and audience members last year told us the play put them in the mood for the holidays. I hope you can join us this time. Please tell your friends about it.
Meanwhile, there’s a second play on the horizon.

If you’ve been a regular reader of my column in The Sun, you know that one of the things I write about is criminal justice. I’ve chronicled many trials and described hundreds of courtroom scenes over the last 40 years and found them a rich source of stories about the human condition and life in my adopted city. My second play, Baltimore Docket, is based on my observations in Maryland courtrooms – seven stories, from the tragic to comic. I’d like to invite you to see this effort to bring these stories to life on stage in February at the comfortable Meyerhoff Auditorium in the beautiful Baltimore Museum of Art.

I hope it’s not sold out and I hope I don’t have my tech issues right now particularly with a daughter who’s a news director , and psychology major who almost accepted a position in Baltimore at one of your major news affiliates as a news director.
However, she’s constantly harping at me about my grammar and typos until it happens to her! She is officiating, often at the old rinks, and I want to thank you very much for your work with girl’s ice hockey in the past as well. We will have to check her schedule because she would like to see it as well so perhaps she can try to get an assignment at one of the rinks nearby or has a free night because we really wanted to see the first one so we definitely want to see this. You are very valuable to the Sun with your deep dives into stories (I keep remembering your story of Freddie Gray childhood living conditions) and we both read your blogs religiously.

Dan can you give me the dates again? Lilly and I have an app we use and I must slip it in before she takes a reffing or TV assignment. Thanks much!
