The Greatest Generation passeth away and Baby Boomers downsize and move on, leaving the things they’ve accumulated to the next generation — or to strangers in need. That pretty much explains how the gymnasium at Baltimore’s Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Anunciation fills up each summer for the congregation’s annual flea market. It’s a remarkable sight and it gets bigger every year with all new donations. Whatever is left after six weekends go to local charities, and the market itself benefits charities supported by the local Philoptochos Society, the philanthropic arm of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

The flea market will be open June 28 through August 11, every Friday and Saturday, 10:30 am to 2:30 pm, and each Sunday, 11 am to 2 pm.

The cathedral is at 24 West Preston Street. More info at philoptochosannunication@gmail.com
