Starting in December 2022, Dan’s play, “Baltimore, You Have No Idea,” has been staged three years in a row to a total of 14 sold-out audiences in the 350-seat Meyerhoff theater at the Baltimore Museum of Art. The play consists of 10 scenes, all based on columns Dan wrote for The Baltimore Sun during a newspaper career that spanned five decades. Visit our website.

A second play, “Baltimore Docket,” based on Dan’s experiences covering Maryland courts and trials, was staged at the BMA in February 2024 to six soldout audiences. Baltimore Magazine named Dan best playwright in 2024. He is at work on a third play about his adopted hometown as well as revisions to the first two plays.
