Here’s a photograph from the Hungarian embrassy in Washington showing Maryland’s extreme-right, gun-packing Republican congressman, Andy Harris (on the left for this photo only!) receiving a medal of merit from the ambassador, Szabolcs Takács. Wondering why Harris receieved the Officer’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit on January 29? It has something to do with his fostering better cooperation between Washington and Budapest. Nobody asked me, but it’s hard to see what the “merit” of that is, considering Hungary’s disturbing back-slide from democracy under the authoritarian rule of prime minister Viktor Orban.

Thx for today’s March 7 article. Regarding the cicadas, I remember when I was 12 or 13 staying with my Great Aunt in Northwood for the Summer (am 72 now), she had us collect them while live and keep them warm in the oven on a baking sheet. She said something about sending them to Hopkins for some kind of study? We also collected fire flies which she also sent to Hopkins.
About the nutcase, gun toting Andy Harris…follow the money. He needs to resign. Wonder if he gets money from foreigners that he should be reporting?
